Susanne and Bernd at Berowra Waters Inn, north of Sydney. To my left is my father Brian and my niece Janna. The tall, composed lady is Jill-Ellen Fuller, our Celebrant and the other man is Bernd’s close friend from W.A. and Groom’s Witness, Ross Lyndon-James.

My own wedding, Sydney, 1990.

This was at Berowra Waters Inn, the famous restaurant north of Sydney, which was under the superb management of Gai Bilson in those heady times.

We had a total of 16 guests attend, including us (i.e. Bride and Groom) on a summer Friday at lunchtime, which was perfect – for us. My parents sailed southward into Sydney for the occasion on their yacht Tekani, only just making it in time for my Father to give me away, with the seasonally unfavourable wind direction at that time of year.
Coming from a family of nomads, none of my siblings were nearby at the time unfortunately. My only ‘attendant’ was my niece Janna, who has always had a special place in my heart, who traveled from Brisbane to fulfill her childhood dream as a Flowergirl that day. Continue reading
