How cute is this!?

Bondi Beach, Sydney. NSW. 2013

This is our most recent family wedding. It was my niece Janna’s wedding to her partner Patrick—yes this is the same niece who was my Flowergirl in 1990 aged eight!—and was staged in their backyard in Bondi.

Janna was ‘one hot mama’ that day! Isn’t her hair lovely? You can see Janna has inherited the family love of fragrant flowers too.

Guests during the ceremony, family cheering enthusiastically. That’s me in pale green, with my beaming sister Judy (Mother of the Bride) on one side and my brother Frank over my left shoulder. See how happy everybody there is?!

Their ceremony was staged in a very intimate, casual setting and followed the traditional format. They chose to each write their own vows. The Bride was barefoot throughout.

The Groom is a professional jazz musician so there was a heightened atmosphere from the live music playing throughout the ceremony and on late into the night, as many of the guests were also musicians. Her Celebrant (not me) did a terrific job and visibly enjoyed herself too.

In keeping with the Central-American theme, the caterers created a huge, delicious paella as the main meal which proved a real crowdpleaser and went down well with the flowing margaritas.

Myself and Janna’s father share a birthday, so this ’empty glass situation’ is a scenario we have experienced together many times over the years. hahaha!
