Marcus & Gregory’s Idyllic Vista Wedding

Mother Nature certainly smiled widely upon this couple on their chosen Saturday and in their chosen location for mid-winter nuptuals.

Grooms Marcus Hill & Gregory Curtis.

Fortuitously, Gregory’s family were planning a significant Milestone Birthday celebration for his mother, Janine, in Port Douglas on this weekend, which meant that Gregory’s close relatives, plus siblings with their offspring, were already expected to be traveling into Cairns. This provided the timely opportunity for Gregory & Marcus to ‘seal their deal’ whilst they were present – meaning then only Marcus’s family would need to travel north specifically for the occasion.

Janine & Denise were both pleased to be asked to give away their sons.

Wanting a low key, private atmosphere for this family occasion, their ceremony was staged simply, in the glade at Park Cove, Port Douglas, although Marcus managed to surprise Gregory on the day with a live musical performance as a special wedding gift.

Visnja, a very talented local musician.

Deeply-felt sentimentality associated with their late fathers’ was the impetus for the special creation of their matching wedding rings, custom made from combined personal jewellery, formally worn by both parents & grandparents. A significant item for all ‘newlyweds’ made very special indeed!

Niece Skylar did a terrific job as the Ringbearer!

Being FNQ local residents, these lovely men knew the most picturesque backdrop for their ceremony would be at the head of the river in Port Douglas!

After almost 20 years building their life together across several states, it was a true pleasure for me to marry these men who consolidated their lives as Gregory Curtis-Hill & Marcus Curtis-Hill.
